I would like to start by telling you a little about myself. I currently live in Hillsborough, New Hampshire, though I am originally from northern Massachusetts. Throughout my life, receiving a degree and beginning a career in a field that I found inspiring was a high priority. The path through life isn’t always the smoothest; however, I have always found a way to rise to a challenge and attain success. 

 

For most of my twenties, I needed to maintain employment on a full-time basis, which made traditional college education difficult. I didn’t let this hold me back, though, as I spent much of that time attending night classes at a local college. With perseverance, I obtained an Associate of Science degree in Psychology and then an Associate of Science in Nursing. The ASN degree granted me entry into nursing, and I hit the ground running. Over the years of my career, I have met many wonderful people, both patients, professional staff, and many members of the communities where I have worked. I genuinely feel that nursing is one of the most rewarding careers, as we form extraordinary bonds with others that cannot be found elsewhere. These bonds allow us to continue to educate, advocate, and always reach higher to obtain excellence. Through this, we improve ourselves and the health of our communities.
